Improve your world with some favorite lifehacks

The definition of a lifehack is a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one’s time and daily activities in a more efficient way.

The appeal factor for me is any lifehack that requires a minimal amount of time, energy and financial investment. Here are two of my favorites lifehacks that truly have instantly improved my quality of life.

A turntable in the refrigerator

Not a turntable for records but for storage. The idea to use a turntable in the refrigerator went by in my Facebook newsfeed. So simple, yet pure genius! I am under 5 feet tall, so the top shelf of my fridge is the land of the lost. By placing smaller objects on a turntable on the top shelf, I can easily reach everything up there.

My turntable came as a set, which are both in the fridge. They were purchased in Target, but you can find them in most stores with kitchen gadgets. Even if you are not vertically challenged, like myself, it instantly organizes items so they won’t be lost in the back of the fridge. It keeps all of your ducks, or in my case, jams and jellies, in a spinning row.

The lingerie drying rack

Can $5.99 change your life? Yes! It can also extend the life of your lingerie. The minimal investment in a lingerie drying rack for my bras has been a handy, dandy little contraption. This may fall into the category of “too much information” but I’m sharing it anyway.

The minimal investment in a lingerie drying rack goes a long way toward extending the life of your delicate garments.

After a bra fitting at Nordstrom’s department store, I found out what my true size is. Not giving away any personal information on that but it turns out, I’m off the charts. This translates to a nonexistent size in most retail stores. This also means that bras in my size are very expensive. My days of placing bras in the clothes dryer are officially over.

The Container Store is one of those magical stores that stocks clever items to help get you organized. I came across the $5.99 lingerie drying rack, and I love how compact it is, yet can still hold 12 bras without taking over a room. Well worth the investment.
