Are you ready to refresh your home?
The weather keeps teasing us with warm days turning to cold, rainy days. Are you ready to refresh your home? I am!
Edit and forget it
Getting rid of the items that are cluttering up each room of your home is a good way to refresh. It can be time consuming but it is more important to actually get rid of the unwanted items then just moving it to another location to clutter up another area.
Use it or lose it
In the New Year I was determined to use what I have instead of buying new or similar products. For example, there is a moisturizer I use every day. But what about those two bottles of a more expensive brand taking up space in my bathroom vanity? I used them up and now they are gone.
The point is to access our inventory of ‘stuff’ whether it is food in the pantry or personal care items in your bathroom. Discard items past their prime. If you know you are not going to use it, donate it or throw it out.
Refresh also means cleaning and there is no better time than the spring. While the weather is still fickle, get things done inside the home because once the weather stabilizes, you’ll want to be outdoors working on the exterior.
See clearly from the inside out
Having clean windows is part of my spring-cleaning ritual. It is really amazing the difference it makes. I’ll only tackle the front door and sliders myself. The rest I leave to a professional company.
“It’s impossible to present a home as clean and well maintained when the windows have been ignored for years. While most home improvement projects can cost thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars, for a few hundred dollars or a day’s effort can completely transform the look and feel of every room in your home. For an even greater impact, remove the insect screens. This small change lets in more sunlight making rooms appear airy and spacious, while highlighting views and landscaping, no words required”, says Jim Wagner of Estate Window Cleaning in Warwick, 845-987-1111.
