Consign For A Cause
Before I write about a consignment shop I need to confess, I don’t do consignment shops. They seem to turn me off for various reasons. That is no longer the case with a gem of a store, actually two stores located in Cornwall Plaza in Cornwall, New York.
Encore Inc., Consign for a Cause is like shopping in a boutique rather than your typical consignment shop. It is immaculate and filled with clean, nicely displayed and organized clothing and accessories. A few doors from the clothing store you will find the home goods pop up shop filled with furniture, antiques and home décor.
You never know what you will find and inventory is constantly changing. This means every time I am in Cornwall, I’ll be stopping at Encore.
The Pop Up Home Store
My first stop was at their home store. I picked up 2 pieces of painted furniture, a small bookcase and an accent table. The cute bookcase was recently placed in one of my vacant stagings to create a nursery in one of the bedrooms. Also added to my inventory: a pillow, table runner and accessories.

The following week I stopped by to check out the Encore clothing store before an event I was attending. With a limited time frame I scored a new top with tags, a dress and dress shoes. I liked the consignment shop dress better than what I was wearing to the event and considered wearing my new purchase that night. Fast forward to this week, I wore my ‘new’ dress to another event where I received half a dozen compliments. Score!
Did I mention how I now love consignment shops? Especially when it doesn’t feel like one. Not only do I look forward to shopping there again, I have quite a few items from my closet to donate. Paying it forward never looked so good.
Encore Inc., Consign for a Cause
Encore Consign for A Cause is where a good deal is also a good deed. Help the environment, put money in your pocket and aid Cornerstone Family Healthcare a non-profit, multi-disciplinary community health center. Encore Inc., Consign for a Cause offers quality, new and like-new, name-brand women’s merchandise, accessories, home goods, furniture and antiques, and is staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers.
You may bring in items by appointment by calling (845) 458-8313 or emailing Encore@Consign4aCause.org. Items are consigned with, and donated to, Encore Inc. – Consign for a Cause in new and like new condition, and resold to the community at an affordable price.
Items are consigned for a period of 60 days. Items accepted include upscale and name brand ladies and teen girl apparel and accessories; furniture, home goods, antiques and costume jewelry. Items should be in new or like-new condition, up-to-date, and no more than two years out of season, unless vintage.
Donate items to Encore, Inc. – Consign for a Cause to provide maximum benefit to their mission to support programs and services at Cornerstone Family Healthcare. Store proceeds will benefit Cornerstone’s mission to ensure affordable, quality healthcare is available to our communities.
Upon request, donors will be provided with a donation receipt to be used for tax purposes. All contributions to Encore, Inc. – Consign for a Cause are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
